The Nike Pavilion is
basically a parking garage built by Nike for the 1996 Olympics.
The interior is a
warehouse that is stripped to the bones. Occasionally a group, usually Nike,
will do an event there
and build the site from the ground up, or in this case the air down.
We had to send in a
rigging crew for three days to install uni-strut and trussing into the cement
ceiling before we
could even start.
The event featured a Nike
display area, two non stop MC's, a basketball court cage, and
some X boxes.
That was just the inside.
The outside had 3 basketball courts, games and another MC. The cage was the
highlight
with a number of one on
one competitions by street ballers who had won a national competition.
Also featured were
appearances by Ludacris and 50 Cent.
